The P5 Mobile HiFi Stereo Headphones made by Bowers & Wilkins were on my wish list for a very long time. I have finally saved enough money to buy them and I am more than happy with my choice. I wanted these headphones badly because I never had a pair made without plastic. I figured that P5 will be much more durable than any other headphones with plastic additions.
I do not invest in headphones too often, but when I do, I like to make sure they are worth my money. P5 are made of metal and natural leather. I can not say I am happy with having sheep skin on my headphones. However, the quality of natural leather is hard to imitate by any synthetic material.
The memory foam ear cushions are as comfortable as I imagined. When you wear these headphones for the first times the cushions do not take the shape of your ears. In order to adjust them perfectly on your head and ears, you must wear them for a period of time equal with the burn-in period.
The quality of the sound and the sound isolation are as expected too. I am not a fan of a single music genre, so what I was looking for was a pair of headphones that would reproduce an accurate sound. I wanted to hear the music exactly how it is supposed to sound, without any additions or enhancements. P5 does this for me, so I am fully satisfied.
The closed design of these headphones ensures a pretty good sound isolation. I did not get the chance to try them on a plane yet, but I am sure they will keep up. I do not feel completely out of this world when I have P5 on, yet the background noise is lower.

Here are some of the pros and cons of the Bowers & Wilkins P5 Mobile HiFi Stereo Headphones
No plastic additions – The metal and the natural sheep leather are the only materials used for the manufacture of P5. They guarantee the durability of this product.
Faithful sound reproduction – Every song, soundtrack or sound is reproduced faithfully. This is not a pair of headphones made for an enhanced reproduction of specific instruments.
Good sound isolation – In and out, P5 ensures a decent to excellent sound isolation.
Cable with remote and microphone – You can simply push a button to take a call or to listen to other songs.
Poor fit for large heads – This was not my case, but for some people these headphones are not a good fit. They can hurt one’s ears because the headband is not loose enough, but adjusted to the maximum.
All in all, P5 from Bowers & Wilkins have a superb choice in terms of materials and the sound quality is rich and faithful. Not oriented to a certain type of music, these headphones are great for movies or games too. You can take them anywhere with you because you can easily store them or use them without disturbing the people around you. This is a top notch product for picky people with great taste in music.
