The surround sound featured by Sennheiser RS 170 has made me fall in love irremediably. The experience is truly special and since there is no wire attached to them, I really felt like I did not have any headphones on. RS 170 is lighter than most headphones. It weights only 216 grams. Besides the fact that I have freedom of movement, I do not have to get used with any sort of pressure on my head or ears.
The 2 rechargeable batteries have a tested autonomy of 24 hours. They lasted 4 days for me. I have used the headphones daily for about 6 hours. You can just put them on the transmitter before you go to bed and leave them there until you come back from work the next day. In this way they will recharge without you having to babysit them.
RS 170 works in a range of up to 260 feet. I appreciate my freedom of movement and I really do not appreciate to be restricted by a wire connection. All in all, these digital wireless headphones have the needed qualities to excel at conferring freedom to move around and comfort.
Strictly from the sound’s point of view, I must say this model of wireless headphones keeps the sound quality unchanged. Usually the wireless devices do not transmit the sound at the highest quality possible, but Sennheiser has managed to eliminate the compressed data system. This means that every detail from the soundtrack of a movie, game or simply a song can be distinguished with these headphones on.
The dynamic bass boost offers a better home theater performance. You do not have to worry about how to setup your devices or find the right frequency. RS 170 has an automatic setup function. Optionally, you can connect up to 4 headphones to just one transmitter.

Here are some of the pros and cons of the Sennheiser RS 170 Digital Wireless Headphone with Dynamic Bass and Surround Sound
No compressed data system – The sound is transmitted as accurate as possible. The loss of details is out of the question. The sound quality remains high-quality even when using the surround sound and the bass boost.
Closed headphones – This feature limits the sound coming in and out of your headphones. This is a sound reduction characteristic much appreciated by the entire family.
High level of comfort – RS 170 has a flexible and adjustable headband. The ear cups are triangular and cover your ears without putting pressure on them.
Multifunctional transmitter – The transmitter is also a battery charger and it can be used for 4 pairs of headphones at the same time.
Problems with the buttons – The buttons are a little too small and it is hard to differentiate one from another.
The transmitter turns off – It is not enough to turn the headphones on and off. Once the headphones are off, you must also turn the transmitter on again. This must be done manually.
The Sennheiser RS 170 Digital Wireless Headphone with Dynamic Bass and Surround Sound pleases me from every point of view. It might not have the greatest functionality, but the quality and all its features meet my needs accordingly. Superb additions and great quality sound.
